OFFICIAL PLAYING RULES
1: General playing rules shall be in accordance with rules 1 through to 15-16 of the NZDC Rule Book, with the name WELLINGTON DARTS ASSOCIATION replacing NEW ZEALAND DARTS COUNCIL where necessary.
2: No dart shall be thrown once a player has exceeded the required score.
(NO HOT DARTS). The penalty shall be a fine of $2.00.
3: The Association Committee shall appoint an OFFICAL UMPIRE. The umpire shall have the final say in any dispute including those not covered by these rules.
3.1 Mode of play – number of players in a team and day’s of play shall be
decided by the Committee prior to the start of each season.
3.2 Where deemed necessary teams in the same club, in the same division will play each other at the beginning of each round.
3.3 Matches will commence at 7.30pm and no later than 7.45pm. No games to start after 10.30pm, at which time the team with the most wins will be deemed the winner.
3.4 Score sheets to be filled in with players initials and surname. If necessary team captains may exchange list before filling in the sheets.
3.5 It will be the responsibility of the winning team captain to hand in to the registrar, or some-one appointed by him/her, a completed score sheet after the completion of each match. Failure to do so could result in a default result being recorded.
3.6 All teams will be responsible for cleaning their own tables, chalk boards and returning their glasses, jugs and bottles to the bar area.
4: All teams to be registered one week prior to the start of the season and be financial by the third week of play or incur a 10% penalty.
4.1 New players to be registered and financial one week after
participating in a game.
4.2 Any team playing an unregistered player may be penalised with a
default.
4.3 A team short one player may play another Association member from
the same or a lower division, nut no more than twice in any round.
The team playing a substitute must forfeit two games.
4.4 A team short two or more players must default.
4.5 Any team defaulting more than twice in any one round may be
expelled from the Association or relegated to a lower division.
4.6 No player may register to more than one team in the Association.
5: Any player wishing to transfer from one team to another may do so in the following way: -
5.1 The player to inform their current captain in writing.
5.2 The receiving player to inform the registrar in writing.
5.3 The name of the player
5.4 Players registration card
5.5 Transfer fee of $2.00
5.6 Financial release from previous club – to be endorsed by the previous captain.
5.7 Ten days from date of transfer must elapse before they can compete in the new team. Only one transfer per player per season is allowed, unless special dispensation is given by the registrar.
5.8 Any person transferring to the Wellington Darts Association from another Association or league must submit a transfer clearance form.
5.9 Any person transferring to the Wellington Darts Association from another Association or league will not be allowed to compete in the Wellington Darts Association Championships unless they have competed in one complete round of the Wellington Darts Association competition of that season.
6: The behaviour of individuals is the responsibility of the team captain.
7: The Committee has the right to expel any person who is a member of the Association and conducts themselves in any way which is deemed by the Committee to be detrimental to the Association. Any person who is expelled shall forfeit their membership fee and their name shall be struck from the register in accordance with the Constitution.
8: The Committee have the right to refuse entry to any persons who they consider to be detrimental to the Association, to any of the Association’s fixtures or functions. This will also apply to any persons who are in debt to the Association.
9: Any member of the Wellington Darts Association whilst under the auspeices of the Association strikes or assaults in any way another person for whatever reason shall be automatically suspended from all Association activities for a full three months.
10: Members wishing to be eligible for Representative selection must place their name in the appropriate selection box.
11: Players participating in Representative games must wear the Wellington Darts Association uniform.
12: Players must be at the venue 30 minutes prior to the start of the games.
13: Players must inform an Executive Member at least 24 hours nefore start time if they are unable to attend.
14: Players travelling buy bus must be punctual, any player delaying a bus shall be fined $10.00.
15: Players are required to conduct themselves in an orderly and sporting manner at all times.
LEAGUE AND CHAMPIONSHIPS
1: The winner of each round will be decided on the number of wins. If two or more teams are tied then accumulated games won by the teams will decide the winner. If they are still tied then a straight knockout is to be played,
2: The team winning the most rounds of any division will be the overall winner of that division, provided that team has not won a round in a higher division. In the event of two or more teams being equal, they will play off in a straight knockout.
3: Men’s and Ladies’ singles will be played best of three legs to the semi-final, which will be the best of five legs and the final will be the best of seven. All other sections will be the best of three legs to the final which will be the best of five.
4: All sections of any championship will be played 501 except any fours which will be 701.
5: Junior Championships, all sections will be played 501, best of three legs including the finals.
